1/2 pound butter, softened
1 egg yolk
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg yolk, slightly beaten
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups flour
3-1/2 tablespoons Port Wine
2 tablespoons sugar
In Large bowl, cream sugar and butter. Add the egg yolk and beat with wooden
spoon. Stir in the dry ingredients and the wine. Mix well. Place in refrigerator
for about 2 hours. Remove, and roll dough with a rolling pin to about 1/4"
thickness. Cut with the cookie cutter of your choice, about 1-1/2 inches in
diameter. Spread each cookie with beaten egg white and then sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes, or until lightly browned. Makes 5
dozen. Very tasty!
